Background
I come from a geology and geophysics background working in the oil and gas industry, but over the years have developed a passion for bayesian statistics and data science more broadly. My skillset includes a mixture of geology and geophysics workflows as well as more general purpose statistical modelling. The intersection of these things has allowed me to work on fairly unique projects during my career.
I believe that bayesian statistical modelling offers the most robust and flexible framework for uncertainty quantification and decision making under uncertainty. For that reason it has become a primary career focus of mine.
Effective data analytics require good data practices upstream, so along with my data science skillset I have developed a focus on relational database design and data engineering.
LD Informatics
In 2026, together with my business partner Charlie Lu, I started LD Informatics, a consultancy company focussed on developing data solutions for the energy sector. We specialize in deploying domain driven data solutions, from cloud infrastructure deployment and database architecture, through to business intelligence and analytics.
With our combined experience and expertise, Charlie and I represent a full stack data team.
